Bobito

I wrote Bobito (Little Fool) in 2005 after coming home from a particularly aggravating gig in a fit of frustration. As I sat at my desk having a sip of rum it occurred to me that I had so much more to be thankful for than so many less fortunate people that it was pretty silly to feel so dejected just because of a bad gig. The act of writing the song actually made realize how much better it feels to create something positive – even if the subject matter is less than cheerful – than to just find find fault with things or focus on the negatives in life. It was and still is my personal favorite song on the album, which is why I placed it as the lead-off track (but don’t tell that to the other songs because they get jealous).  -AFF

Y vas a ver

Vas a ver

The little fool only sees what he hasn't got
And frowns at the future
But with some resignation
and a little bit of rum
He holds on

You ran the red light,
love doesn't tempt you anymore
You went too far, it's just like it was before
And so you see

How the little fool keeps on waiting
for a change that never comes
As time keeps passing by

The little fool only asks for
the things he doesn't want
And desires everything except what he prefers
Like a stone that gathers moss,
Maybe he should just stop rolling

Keep on pushing ahead
There's still a lot left to do
And those interminable demands
Always put you up against the wall
And the result

Is that the little fool spends all his time
Lamenting would'ves and could'ves
As time keeps stretching on

Open your eyes, oh what can a little fool do?
Like Arsenio Rodriguez sang,
"Life is a dream" - you'll see

Open your eyes, don't worry about yesterday
You've got this moment in your hands
And the future waits at your feet

Open your eyes, he who looks but doesn't see
Open your eyes and live your life to the fullest,
Because it's gone
